Let’s unplug some things–and then plug them back in again
![This comedic short was inspired by a Funeral Home in my town (I’ll refrain from sharing their name but let’s just say it rhymes with ‘Shpring Shmill Shmuneral Shmome’) from whom I received a ‘Buy-One-Get-One Free’ offer in the mail in early December. It was disguised as a heartfelt letter (addressed to “current resident of” my home), explaining that I had been “specially selected’” as the winner of this offer to get a burial plot for free (…with the purchase of another burial plot).
It was a little over a year since my brother died; a little over a year since we’d had a chaotic, sub-par, over-priced service at the very same funeral home. It was about two weeks before my Dad died.
What a crazy coincidence!
A few weeks later and I’m carrying Dad’s ashes home from a (different) Funeral Home & Crematorium in a (black) fabric reusable bag with business logos on it that they gave us (for free!)
Their hearts were in the right place—at least it wasn’t plastic.
So if this video seems a little outrageous, I’m here to you that it’s actually not THAT much of a stretch.
And that inflatable-arm-flailing-guys are still funny.
And also that…maybe we should tone down this whole ‘anything in the name of business growth’ thing, eh?
